Help Eradicate Abuse through Learning
AWARENESS

HEAL attempts to create awareness about CSA among school principals, teachers, parents and civil society groups. Workshops are being held in various schools to help teachers and parents understand CSA, identify cases, learn preventive techniques and to handle disclosures sensitively.
The Foundation has conducted over 46 awareness programs in different schools and colleges thus far.

Workshops in schools and colleges:
Currently we are encouraging institutions to use an in depth module wherein we conduct trainings for parents, teachers, administrative departments and students with frequent follow ups. We also conduct an ongoing training process for the school counsellors as well. Schools/colleges are encouraged to form a support group with our help which can internally handle any reported case using a multidisciplinary approach. Greenlawns School, Cathedral and John Connon School and Aditya Birla World Academy are some of the schools we are currently working with.

Community level workshops:
The foundation has also conducted several awareness workshops in various housing societies, clubs and public events. These workshops are conducted in both English and Hindi.
Apart from workshops we have conducted movie screenings, talks by eminent speakers from the field, street plays at market places, poster exhibitions at railway stations among others to create awareness about child sexual abuse.

Capacity building workshops:
Capacity building workshops for professionals and para professionals are organised from time to time as well. These workshops are for a minimum of 4 hours and provides hands on training on different aspects of CSA using role plays, case studies and practise sessions.
External resource people are also invited to conduct such trainings from time to time.
